Central to carrying out the vision of Lutheran CORE is inspiring and mobilizing its network of congregations, organizations and individual members to be “actively engaged in supporting and expanding local, continental and global missions.” MissionConnect is a gathering place for Lutheran CORE members and partners to connect with resources and opportunities for missional outreach as we seek to be obedient to Christ’s Great Commission. In 2011 Lutheran CORE challenged each member congregation to support at least one local and one global mission ministry.

Established churches have financial resources to share with new church plants and ethnic churches, but ethnic churches and Christians in the non-western world also have so much to give – in their stirring example of commitment to Christ, passionate and courageous faith, belief in the authority of the Bible, and evangelistic fervor.

Matthew 9:35-38 (NIV):  The Workers Are Few

35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
