“My tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” These things I remember and I pour out my soul within me.  For I used to go along with the throng and lead them in procession to the house of God, with the voice of joy and thanksgiving, a multitude keeping festival.” (Psalm 42:3-4)

We tend to follow along with the crowd and go wherever they may go.  But the crowd is led by the ways of this world and it is not long before the crowd goes where we should not go.  We lament and mourn because this world is bound for hell and destruction.  Turn from the ways of the world and see that the ways of the Lord are calling.  Listen and follow Him, for He will bring you to the place of refreshing.

Lord, let me not be a recluse, or abandon the world, but be discerning and walk in Your ways while in the midst of those around me who go where they will.  Let me be filled with Your light that I might reflect it into the world.  You are the Lord, Creator of all that exists.  You alone know the way I should go, for You alone know my heart.  Lead me O Lord and give me the will to follow.

Lord Jesus, You have come into this world to lead out as many as would follow You out of the morass of wickedness in this world.  Step by step, guide me in Your way and grant the grace for me to follow.  Help me now and always to keep my eyes upon You that I would go where You lead.  Guide me in the upward call You have given me that I would increasingly become like You.  Amen.
