“Let those be appalled because of their shame who say to me, “Aha, aha!” Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; let those who love Your salvation say continually, “The Lord be magnified!”  Since I am afflicted and needy, let the Lord be mindful of me. You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God.” (Psalm 40:15-17)

Look inside and see the things that are not in accord with the will of the Lord.  Be conformed not to this world, but to the truth of God’s Word and know the freedom that comes from living within God’s order of things.  Each of us is needy; and the Lord who knows our need provides in order that we might become as He has created us to be.  The Lord is your help in every time of need.

Lord, help me come to the place of honesty where I willingly admit my lackings and submit to Your will.  Guide me according to Your purposes to become whom You have created me to be.  Lead me through Your Word, knowing it points to Christ, that I may become like the first born, who has come that all who through Him come into Your presence would be forever united in His likeness.

Lord Jesus, You have come to bring all who come through You into the Father’s presence.  Lead me in the way I should go and keep me from faltering.  Help me now and always to be conformed to Your image that by grace I may proceed to where You would have me go.  Guide me, O Lord, that I would walk in Your ways now and always and trust in the grace You have given me to do so.  Amen.
