“As a shattering of my bones, my adversaries revile me, while they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me?  Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God.” (Psalm 42:10-11)

This world will destroy the good and the innocent and proclaim they are powerful.  They may destroy the body, but they cannot destroy the soul.  Help me see the simple truth that You have planted within me the ability to persevere through all the evil of this world to be with You forever.  You are the Maker of all things and in Your hands is eternal security which cannot be taken away.

Lord, help me have the confidence I need to walk in this world bent on the destruction of the godly ones.  Guide me in the way of truth that I may walk in it and be one of Your children.  Help me now and always to see through the deceit of this age to know that all this is temporary and Your Word shall triumph, as it already has, over this age.  In You alone do I trust, for You alone are good.

Jesus, You have taught us to look to the Father who knows all that we need.  Guide my eyes up to see the Father and do what is pleasing in His sight.  Help me now and always to keep this simple thing in mind: that no matter what happens, what I do, or where I go, there You are before me leading the way.  Increase my trust in You alone and what You have accomplished.  Amen.
