“The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime; and His song will be with me in the night, a prayer to the God of my life. I will say to God my rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?” (Psalm 42:8-9)

The world has been messed up in sin for a long time.  Wickedness cannot destroy good, but it never stops trying.  Simply do the good and know that goodness always prevails over wickedness.  Why should you let the wicked triumph when they will fail?  Trust the Lord in all of His ways and know that He shall work good for those who love Him.  Do not forget the Lord.

Lord, the news comes at me, but it is skewed.  Help me look to Your Word as the news of eternity that reminds me that You have and will prevail.  Guide me to walk always in Your ways knowing that in You alone is there hope and a future.  Keep me from being overwhelmed by the lies of the wicked one that I may praise You always for the good works You have accomplished.

Lord Jesus, You have come that all who come through You would have hope and a future.  Lead me, O Lord, to walk in Your ways that I would hold forever fast to the truth of Your Word and the future You hold in store for those who come through You into eternity.  Let my life be a praise of You whose word alone holds true forever.  Heaven and earth shall pass away, but Your Word abides forever.  Amen.
