“The steps of a man are established by the Lord, and He delights in his way.  When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong, because the Lord is the One who holds his hand.  I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his descendants begging bread.”  (Psalm 37:23-24)

When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong because the Lord holds his hand.  Yes, you and I will stumble, but if we keep the Lord’s hand as the One guiding us, He will keep us from falling off of the narrow road.  Walk with the Lord and in His ways and He will keep you on the path He has established.  Know that the Lord is able to do this and does for all who turn to Him.

Lord, I am guilty of thinking that You will always keep me from stumbling, yet it is clear that You say when, not if.  Help me, I pray, to see that I am in Your hands and that all things will work together because You are God.  Guide me to trust You at all times, even times when I stumble that I might simply walk with You all the days of my life.  Lead me, O Lord, according to Your will.

Lord Jesus, although You did not stumble, yet You were harassed continuously and all around You the disciples stumbled.  Help me see that You have come to lead the way through all the difficulties this world will throw in the way of those who follow You and that You will lead all who follow You through every turmoil and trouble.  Guide me, Lord Jesus, for only You show the way I need to go.  Amen.
