“My eyes are continually toward the Lord, for He will pluck my feet out of the net. Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.” (Psalm 25:15-16)
Sin isolates and pens us in. The Lord frees us from the bondage of sin by His grace. The net no longer has power over the ones who place their trust in the Lord. The affliction of this world is the rebellion against the Lord who has come that all who turn to Him would be freed. The communion of saints fills in loneliness and in the Lord there is community, hope and life.
Lord, I see what comes in You, but I fight within myself and the old Adam rises and comes back with a vengeance. Help me, I pray, to see in You the hope of glory and to continue on the path that leads to life. Guide me O Lord in the way You have established from the beginning that I may rest in You and know the fullness You give in grace. Guide me in Your ways O Lord.
Lord Jesus, You are the way, truth and life and have come that all who follow You would be led out of the wilderness of this world into the light of eternity which You have revealed. Lead me this day, O Lord, that I would follow in the way You have established and keep me from wandering back into the net of this life. Help me hold fast to the truth You have established by grace. Amen.
