“God, in her palaces, has made Himself known as a stronghold.  For, lo, the kings assembled themselves, they passed by together.”  (Psalm 48:3-4)

The Lord is always present awaiting those who will turn to Him.  The day will come when all will see and know the Lord watches and knows all that happens among men.  Do not go the way of the world, but turn to the One who knows.  Be not as the kings of the earth who scheme for themselves, but look to the King of kings who provides for all.  Know the Lord and know His goodness.

In this over-politicized world where people scheme for authority and power, it is tempting to become wrapped up in the stress of it all.  Help me, O Lord, to look to You who does not need to vie for power, for it is Yours, but who loves those whom He has created.  Guide me in Your presence to be at peace with You and with all whom I meet knowing that in You alone is hope and glory.

King of kings, who has taken away the sins of the world, bring my eyes to see You every day.  Help me learn from Your gentle example how to walk through this world steeped in sin without giving into the sin.  Lead me to be what You are calling me to be that I may walk in Your ways and know the truth You have revealed for all who turn to You.  Lead me, Lord Jesus, in the way I should go.  Amen.

Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, in the city of our God, His holy mountain.  Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, is Mount Zion in the far north, the city of the great King.”  (Psalm 48:1-2)

The place prepared for the wedding feast of the lamb is the new city, the New Jerusalem, Mt.  Zion.  The Lord is preparing something beyond our ability to comprehend for those who are in Him.  Join in the rest of the Lord knowing that whatever this world brings, it will pale in the distance to all that the Lord has in mind for us.  He is great and greatly to be praised for all His goodness.

Lord, I become myopic in my view and forget how temporary things are in this world. Turn my eyes to look clearly to You and see that through all that this world may throw my way, it is nothing compared to the magnificence of Your splendor and glory.  Guide me, O Lord, to walk with You now and always knowing that in You alone is the eternal hope You have made possible.

Lord Jesus, You have come to clear the way for all those who will trust in the provision of Your grace to walk into eternity with You.  Guide me today and everyday to see You, knowing that You have the words of eternal life.  Lead me, my Lord, to where You would have me go that I may follow wherever You lead.  May I be faithful in following You now and forever.  Amen.

“The princes of the people have assembled themselves as the people of the God of Abraham, for the shields of the earth belong to God; He is highly exalted.”  (Psalm 47:9)

Those who are in the Lord are gathered together as the communion of saints.  From every tribe, tongue and nation they are gathered together as the bride of Christ.  Seek the Lord while He may be found and live in the truth of His eternal presence.  In Him is life and liberty and apart from Him is nothing.  The Lord is exalted and shall be for all eternity.  Live in the Lord.

Lord God, You who formed all that exists, guide me through the grace You have provided to bring me from the place of being one in rebellion to the place of being one who lives for You alone.  Guide me according to Your purposes to see in You the hope of glory and the life everlasting.  Lead me, O Lord, according to Your purposes that I may forever abide in You.

Lord Jesus, the One who makes grace possible, help me, I pray, to see in You the only way to live life.  Guide me in the grace You have provided to abide in You and You in me that I may become what has always been intended.  As You walk alongside me, may I listen as the Spirit speaks and be directed according to the Father’s perfect will.  Lead me this day, O Lord, that I may follow.  Amen.

“For God is the King of all the earth; sing praises with a skillful psalm.  God reigns over the nations, God sits on His holy throne.”  (Psalm 47:7-8)

The world fights against the reality of the truth that all that exists belongs to the Lord.  It is His for He made it.  The scramble to ‘own’ what is not theirs can intimidate people to believe what is not true.  Step into the light and see the truth that all that exists belongs to the Lord.  He is the God of love and invites us into His eternal presence to walk with Him now and forever.

Lord lead me through all the nonsense of this world to come into the truth of existence.  Help me see that only in You is there life and liberty.  Guide me through Your Word to come into understanding and know that only in You is there hope and light.  You are the One through whom all things have their being and in You alone is life and light.  Lead me into Your grace.

Light of the World, who has come to reveal all that is needed, guide me along right paths to walk in the truth all the days of my life.  Help me now and always to turn to You knowing that in You alone is hope and a future.  By Your grace, lead me out of the darkness of this world to see the truth of Your salvation.  You are the One who has brought hope into the world.  Help me stand and walk in the hope You give.  Amen.

“God has ascended with a shout, the Lord, with the sound of a trumpet.  Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises.”  (Psalm 47:5-6)

God is on high and there is no one above the Lord.  Many in this age ignore the Lord, but there is no one greater.  Seek the Lord while He may be found and be lifted up.  The Lord turns to those who turn to Him.  Be guided in the way of the Lord and know that all things are now and always in His hands.  Sing praises and give Him your worship and honor for He is above all things.

Lord, I look up to people in this world, but ignore You.  Help me by renewing in me a right spirit and a clean heart that I may praise You always.  Through all the ups and downs in this life, help me see in You the everlasting glory You give to those who trust in You.  Help me be lifted up to become like Christ in every way knowing that this is a part of the journey You have laid out before me.

Lord Jesus, God in the flesh who has come down to lift us up, lead me in the way of Your righteousness that I may learn to praise You in and through all things.  Help me see more clearly the truth You have revealed and be at peace in this hostile world.  Through Your grace, may I see my heart renewed, my countenance lifted to You and become one that praises Holy Trinity always.  Amen.

“He subdues peoples under us and nations under our feet.  He chooses our inheritance for us, the glory of Jacob whom He loves.”  (Psalm 47:3-4)

Many argue with the Lord, but the One who knows all things knows what the future beholds.  He could do things you might imagine, but He cares for the whole of creation and causes all things to work together for good.  Do not trust in Your ability to fully know, but in the truth that He who knows all things holds you in His hand and cares for You.  Turn to Him and see the inheritance of eternal life.

Lord, in this world there are so many things that do not make sense to me.  I wonder why You do not do things that way I imagine they should be done.  Help me look through my own mind to realize that You hold all things together and things need to happen as they will and for Your purpose.  Help me to learn to trust You in all things knowing You have good in mind for us all.

Lord Jesus, Son of God, who has brought the promise of grace for us to become a child of the Heavenly Father, guide me today in my thinking and in my doing to walk the path that You have laid.  Lead me to spend more time doing and less time thinking, yet also, the right amount of time for all things that I may grow to become like You whose Word conquered death.  Amen.

“O clap your hands, all peoples; shout to God with the voice of joy.  For the Lord Most High is to be feared, a great King over all the earth.”  (Psalm 47:1-2)

Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.  It is not to be afraid, but to have respect above all things and all people for the One who created all things and all people.  He is the eternal and great King above all.  Do not fall into the traps of this world, but be transformed by His renewing of Your mind to walk now and always in His ways and know the truth He has revealed.

Lord, I do struggle and trust in the wrong things.  I trust in my ability to see things, but do not fully trust in Your revealed Word.  Help me overcome my own sinful prejudices to be open to the truth as You reveal it to me.  Guide me to love Your Word and know that You are indeed the King of all creation.  Teach me to love You, Your Kingdom and Your ways now and always.

Christ the King, You have come to us humbly  to serve and not be served.  By Your example, guide me to serve others as You serve.  Lead me to rejoice in what You have revealed by living the life You have given me to the Father’s glory.  Help me now and always to see the guidance You give for my life.  Lead on, O King Eternal, that I may follow You.  Amen.

“Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”  The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold.”  (Psalm 46:10-11)

How often do we try to figure things out and then determine whether or not we want to agree that it is true.  God is the Sovereign of the universe.  Of course we do not know what He knows.  He gives us His testimony and then we react to it.  In this age of supposed knowledge, know that the Lord’s ways are not our ways.  Learn to live by faith, trusting in the Lord and the witness He has given.

Lord, I am programmed by this world to question everything, yet I do not question the fundamental things, but accept them by faith.  Help me, I pray, to discern between what is programmed and what is true that I may cling to the truth of Your Word.  You are the stronghold of every generation.  Help me to cling to what is right, true and fitting forever.  Guide me in Your ways, O Lord.

Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, help me see the truth You have revealed that I may walk in truth.  Remove from me the striving that gets in the way that the energy I expend may be for truth.  Lead me, O Lord, that I may follow where You lead knowing that You have given the words of eternal life.  Help me now and always to see in You the hope of glory and learn as You teach.  Amen.

“Come, behold the works of the Lord, who has wrought desolations in the earth.  He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariots with fire..”  (Psalm 468-9:)

Every war ends and the day will come when there will be no more war.  Times and seasons may come, but the Lord prevails.  Do not put your trust in those who maim and kill, but in the One who created and sustains life.  Know that in the Lord all is good and apart from Him is nothing.  Come to the Lord; taste and see that He is good and provides a hope and future for those who trust in Him.

Lord, I am often conflicted by my circumstances and do not see my way clearly.  Lead me deeper into Your Word to know that only in You is there hope and a future.  Guide me in the way I should go and turn my footsteps in the right direction.  Through all that may come, keep my eyes upon You, the hope and glory for all who trust in You.  May I never turn from You, the Creator of all things.

Lord Jesus, You have come that we may have abundant life.  Keep me from measuring what this means, but help me accept all that You give knowing that You know what is needed.  You will bring all things into submission on Your time, so help me to trust in Your perfect timing in all things.  Grant that I would walk by faith knowing that all things are in Your hands and will work to the glory of the Father.  Amen.

“The nations made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered; He raised His voice, the earth melted.  The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold..”  (Psalm 46:6-7)

Every few decades we hear the clamor of the end being near.  Yes, the day will come when the end is here, but for now the pace of wickedness is just accelerating and the Lord is accomplishing what He has purposed.  Trust in the One who will speak the Word and the earth will melt away.  The Lord will accomplish all that He has purposed and has invited His children to be with Him forever.

Lord my trust is often in the wrong places.  I become excited at events and think the end is here.  Rather than focusing upon what is happening in this world, help me look to You and know that all things are in Your hands.  Help me to be useful in the cause of leading others to the truth You have revealed to me.  You are the hope of all both now and forever and there is nothing more important than our relationship with You.

Lord Jesus, You remind us that we ought not be anxious, yet often I am.  Help me see in You the truth and the life, and walk with You now and always.  Continue to guide me in the way You have shown that I may walk by faith and live according to the principles You are teaching me.  Keep me away from the prognosticators, looking to You alone as You lead that I may follow where You lead.  Amen.
