“Who say, ‘Keep to yourself, do not come near me, for I am holier than you!’  These are smoke in My nostrils, a fire that burns all the day.  “Behold, it is written before Me, I will not keep silent, but I will repay; I will even repay into their bosom,” (Isaiah 65:5-6)

Many are the ones who think themselves holy and above reproach and they are as a stench to the Lord.  The Lord desires mercy, not sacrifice.  Trust in what the Lord says.  Do not lean on Your own understanding, nor believe that what You have done is anything.  Compare yourself to Christ and You will find that You need Him and what He has done.  There is no room for boasting in your deeds.

Lord, I hate it in others and I do not want to be one who boasts.  Help me learn from You how to be humble and walk simply in Your ways knowing that only You are able to save me.  Let me not be as those who smugly walk around determining for others how they ought to behave.  Guide me humbly in the ways You have established from old and guide along Your paths that You have set out before me.

Lord Jesus, You who are the One through whom all things have their being. Guide me in the way You have established and keep me from walking any other way.  Help me to not lean upon myself or what I have done, but to walk humbly in Your example before You always.  Lead me to simply do what You would have me do and trust in Your leading to guide me along those paths that are pleasing to the Father.  Amen.

“A people who continually provoke Me to My face, offering sacrifices in gardens and burning incense on bricks; who sit among graves and spend the night in secret places; who eat swine’s flesh, and the broth of unclean meat is in their pots.” (Isaiah 65:3-4)

Has anything really changed?  People pretend to be good in public and then behave sinfully in private.  The Lord is not interested in pretending, nor did He go to the cross pretending.  The Lord is interested in reality and wants all who will to join Him in reality.  The days of pretending are over.  Join the Lord in what He has done and in what He is doing.  Know that the Lord is good and wants us to join in His goodness.

Yes Lord, I too have played the game of pretending, but Your love has broken through to lead me out of the illusion of this world and into the light of eternal truth.  Guide me, I pray, to live according to the never-failing truth You have spoken from the beginning.   Help me overcome those things that hinder me and lead me now and always in Your Word of truth.

Lord Jesus, You have come to lead the way for as many as would follow You out of the games of this world and into the truth that You have revealed.  You have paid the price for all those things done in secret that I may be able to walk in the light of day.  Help me live life in such a way that I behave as one who is unafraid of what others see.  Help me do what is right whether or not others see it.  Amen.

“I permitted Myself to be sought by those who did not ask for Me; I permitted Myself to be found by those who did not seek Me.  I said, ‘Here am I, here am I,’ to a nation which did not call on My name.  I have spread out My hands all day long to a rebellious people, who walk in the way which is not good, following their own thoughts,” (Isaiah 65:1-2)

Lord, this is me that You are talking to.  I am not someone who deserves Your attention, but You have given it.  I am unworthy of Your calling, but here it is.  In humility, O Lord, I pray that it be with humility, You have called me into the way of everlasting peace.  Guide me O Lord to walk in the way You have established and keep me heart and mind focused upon You and all that truly exists for Your sake.

Almighty God, You have a plan that began in the beginning.  That plan is unfolding.  Who can know Your mind?  Who can fathom Your ways.  Lead me O Lord to walk with You, for You alone are able to determine the ages.  Lead me O Lord in the way You would have me go and do not allow me to stray either to the left or the right, but to walk the narrow road You have put before me.

Lord Jesus, You have come to lead the way.  When I get in front of You, pull me back.  When I tarry, pull me forward.  When I veer to the left or right, correct my path.  Though my heart pants for You, yet my will struggles to dominate.  Help me my Savior to remain on the path of righteousness which You alone are able to navigate that I may remain in You and You in me.  Amen.

“Our holy and beautiful house, where our fathers praised You, has been burned by fire; and all our precious things have become a ruin.  Will You restrain Yourself at these things, O Lord?  Will You keep silent and afflict us beyond measure?”  (Isaiah 64:11-12)

What you have prepared on this earth, like the Savior, is destroyed by those who hate You.  How long will You wait before bringing the day of judgement?  Yet, You await the time for as many as will, to come to You and know the blessing of hope You give in faith.  Lead me O Lord ever deeper into Your way of truth that I would hold fast to You alone, for You alone are God, sovereign of all.

Heavenly Father, You have spoken the Word and proclaimed again and again the desire You have for all people.  Your Word has reached my heart.  Let the seed of Your Word crowd out all other things that I would be filled by Your Word and then walk in Your ways.  Guide me along the paths of righteousness for Your namesake and keep me from the wicked ways of this world.

Thank You Lord Jesus for giving me Your righteousness.  I do not deserve it, nor is there anything I can boast of, save Your saving grace.  Lead me in the grace You give to walk with You now and forever, knowing that only in You is there truly a future and even in this world, nothing but hope because of what You have done.  Lead me Lord Jesus to become like You.  Amen.

“Do not be angry beyond measure, O Lord, nor remember iniquity forever; behold, look now, all of us are Your people.  Your holy cities have become a wilderness, Zion has become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.”  (Isaiah 64:9-10)

The Lord has every reason to be angry with people who are continuously rebelling against Him.  Jesus summed it up well.  Love the Lord and love one another, yet many love themselves and pretend to love the Lord.  Yet even in the desolation and low number of those who love the Lord, His mercy remains and His patience is in place.  The time will come, but in the meantime, learn what the Lord desires.

Lord, I too struggle to go the way of the wicked and do love as You would have me love.  Teach me Your ways O Lord and help me so that I will not depart from them.  Guide me in spite of myself and others to do what is right no matter the earthly cost.  Hold me fast to Your ways and help me not to stray from them.  Only in You is there hope and a future.  Only in You.

Lord Jesus, You have come to lead the way for as many as would come through You to the Father.  You have come for the remnant who would listen to the wisdom You give and walk in the way You have prepared for those who believe.  Lead me Lord Jesus that I would walk now and forever in the way for which I was created.  Lead me away from the wickedness of this world and into the righteousness of the world to come.  Amen.

“There is no one who calls on Your name, who arouses himself to take hold of You; for You have hidden Your face from us and have delivered us into the power of our iniquities.  But now, O Lord, You are our Father, we are the clay, and You our potter; and all of us are the work of Your hand.”  (Isaiah 64:7-8)

The Lord chooses whom He will.  Christ comes to you and the only thing you or I can do is to respond to Him.  No matter what the world says, we are in the hands of the Lord, or else continue our rebellion against Him.  Do not trust in your own thinking, but come to the Lord who created you and trust in Him.  Come to Him and know the plans He has for all who will be in Him.

Lord, in the great mystery of faith, guide me to be in You and You in me.  Lead me in Your ways O Lord that I would hold fast to the truth You have revealed for the ages.  Guide me into Your never-failing truth and raise me up according to Your purpose.  In all things, may I be found in You, leading the life You direct that I may abide with You now and forever in the bounty of Your grace.

Lord Jesus, You have come that as many as would turn to You would have life and life eternal.  Guide me in every action to look to You as the author and finisher of my faith.  Lead me in Your ways O Lord that I would not turn to the right or the left, but remain on the narrow road You have prepared for all who will come through You to the Father.  May I abide in You this day.  Amen.

“You meet him who rejoices in doing righteousness, who remembers You in Your ways.  Behold, You were angry, for we sinned, we continued in them a long time; and shall we be saved?  For all of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; and all of us wither like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.”  (Isaiah 64: 5-6)

Take care not to lean on your own ideas of what is righteous.  Only the Lord is true and always good.  Pride is what brought about the devil’s fall and it is the most powerful weapon in the devil’s arsenal.  Be humble before the Lord and others and if you are to boast, boast in the Lord, for He alone is good and able to save.  Wear the righteousness He gives through Christ our Savior.

Lord, You alone are good.  Jesus has made that clear to us.  Help me, I pray to not fall into the trap of thinking myself good, but instead, of being humble and gentle and caring for others no matter who they are in the way You would direct.  Guide me in Your way of righteousness and help me live by Your standards and not my own all the days of my life.  I have sinned, but You have redeemed me.

Lord Jesus, You came to be the righteousness I could never be.  Help me trust in what You have done alone knowing that only in You can I boast of Your great work that saves and redeems.  Lead me to walk in Your ways and in Your righteousness that I would abide in You as You guide me through today and every day in the way You would have me go.  May I serve You alone as my Lord and Master.  Amen.

“Oh, that You would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains might quake at Your presence – as fire kindles the brushwood, as fire causes water to boil – to make Your name known to Your adversaries, that the nations may tremble at Your presence!”  (Isaiah 64:1-2)

Those who know the Lord can become impatient and desire for the Lord to bring about His justice.  He is not slow, but sinners are impatient.  The Lord awaits the opportunity for all who will come to Him to have that opportunity.  Ours is to await the timing and purpose of the Lord and to live in His peace.  Vengeance belongs to the Lord and He will repay.  Ours is to share His message.

Lord, as I awaken to the truth of Your glory, I too want to see Your kingdom come.  Help me, I pray, to live in peace with where You have placed me and to do what You would have me do.  Guide me in Your way of truth today and forever, knowing that in You, I have hope and a future.  Lead me in Your gentleness and by Your example to do all that You would have me do according to Your purpose.

Lord Jesus, You marched steadily on toward the goal of Your coming to this earth, to lift up all who would come to You.  In that example, lead me today and every day to simply wait upon You and Your perfect timing for all things.  Guide me to not figure out seasons or times, but to live according to the Father’s will.  In all things, let Your peace rest upon me that I may simply do what You give me to do.  Amen.
