“No longer will you have the sun for light by day, nor for brightness will the moon give you light; but you will have the Lord for an everlasting light, and your God for your glory.  Your sun will no longer set, nor will your moon wane; for you will have the Lord for an everlasting light, and the days of your mourning will be over.”  (Isaiah 60:19-20)

What the Lord is promising is more than we are able to comprehend.  The Lord will hold us in His presence forever and the system of this universe and its temporary nature will pass away.  Forever verses the few score years of this world’s existence.  This is what the Lord offers.  Step back and see what the Lord plans and live in His plans now and forever.  The whole world is nothing compared to the Lord.

Lord, if I step back, I see how fleeting this world is, where moth destroys and the thief steals.  Help me to come to the place where I know that Your promises are forever.  Guide me into the way of Your everlasting peace that I may abide in You now and forever.  Help me overcome the obstacles of doubt in order to live in the truth You have revealed from this day onward.

Lord Jesus, You have come to lead as many as would come through You into everlasting life.  Help me, I pray, to see more clearly the truth that has been revealed and then help me to live in the truth You have revealed.  In all things, guide me by the power of the Holy Spirit that I would live in You as You live in me for the Father’s glory.  May I be Your faithful servant this day.  Amen.

“Instead of bronze I will bring gold, and instead of iron I will bring silver, and instead of wood, bronze, and instead of stones, iron.  And I will make peace your administrators and righteousness your overseers.  Violence will not be heard again in your land, nor devastation or destruction within your borders; but you will call your walls salvation, and your gates praise.”  (Isaiah 60:17-18)

The world settles for second best.  The world is willing to compromise and teach us to settle for less than what the Lord grants.  Do not settle, but come to the Lord and see the fulness He offers through His promises.  Taste and see that the Lord is good.  Although turmoil lasts for a night, the promised rest of the Lord is forever.  Do not settle, but come to the Lord and know that He is good.

Lord, it is sometimes difficult in this world of wickedness to see through its evil.  I become distressed and cannot see the light of day.  Help me, I pray, to stand in Your light and know that no matter what may come, You will fulfill all that You have promised.  Lead me into Your never-failing peace that I would abide in all that You offer and know the truth of Your revelation.

God who has been revealed, my Savior Jesus Christ, lead me this day in Your way of righteousness.  Help me to be humble of heart and gracious to all whom I meet.  Lead me in the way You would have me go, knowing that only in You can I find the rest of the ages.  In all I say and do this day, may Your Spirit rest upon me to guide me in all that I do, that what I do would be to the Father’s glory.  Amen.

“The glory of Lebanon will come to you, the juniper, the box tree and the cypress together, to beautify the place of My sanctuary; and I shall make the place of My feet glorious.  The sons of those who afflicted you will come bowing to you, and all those who despised you will bow themselves at the soles of your feet; and they will call you the city of the Lord, the Zion of the Holy One of Israel.”  (Isaiah 60:13-14)

The days of conflict and turmoil will cease.  For a time, the sin of the world must continue its rebellion.  The rebellion is not one against the other, but against the Lord Himself.  All have sinned and fallen short of the Lord’s glory.  Do not continue in the rebellion of this age, but leave behind the things that will fail and turn to the Lord while His offer is before You.  Know that the strife will end and only those in Him will be rescued.

Lord, You have spoken plainly throughout the ages through Your Word.  Help me see more clearly the truth of the matter.  All have been in rebellion against You, but in You alone is there truly hope and a future.  Help me lay down my rebellion and learn from You how to live according to the Word that You have already spoken.  Guide me in the truth that I may be faithful to You alone.

Lord Jesus, You have come to show the way and lead the way for all who would cease their rebellion and take up the holy cause of the Gospel.  Guide me, O Lord, to live according to the principles You laid out from the beginning.  Keep me close to You on the narrow path and help me see that only in following You will I find the delight of my heart.  Guide me today Lord Jesus in faithfulness.  Amen.

“Then all your people will be righteous; they will possess the land forever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, that I may be glorified.  The smallest one will become a clan, And the least one a mighty nation.  I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time.”  (Isaiah 60:21-22)

The day will come when the rebellion of this world is finally overcome when all people will be righteous.  This is a promise of the Lord.  Know that in the Lord, all who are walking with Him will be brought to the place where they know Him and walk in His ways.  In this age, it is the call of the Gospel to enter into the journey where we know it will end with all who walk with Him becoming righteous.

Lord, I see what is going to happen through the gift of grace, but each day I am overcome with sin in me and in others.  Help me keep my eye on the prize that I may continue on the course of becoming what it is that You are promising.  Take away the roadblocks from in front of me that I may walk with You step by step, knowing that You will lead me where I need to go to reach the place where I will truly be righteous.

Lord Jesus, You have come to lead the way.  Guide me, I pray to see that in You alone is there hope and an eternal future.  Keep me from living according to the ways of this world, but always turning toward You and the way in which You are leading.  Help me, I Pray today to do those things which are pleasing in the Father’s sight.  May I learn righteousness from You and then put it into practice.  Amen.

“Whereas you have been forsaken and hated with no one passing through, I will make you an everlasting pride, a joy from generation to generation.  You will also suck the milk of nation, and suck the breast of kings; then you will know that I, the Lord, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”  (Isaiah 60:15-16)

There are times when it seems those who live in wickedness reign and have power, but the Lord tells us over and again it is for a season.  The ways of the wicked do not last and they pass.  Do not trust in the moment, but in the One who has all time in His hands.  Know that the Lord will accomplish all that He has purposed and it will come to pass as He has declared.

Lord, in these times where the world is not as I remember it, I can easily fall prey to the lies of the wicked one that these are the new times.  Help me see that seasons come and go and so do the deceits of the wicked one.  You alone are the Sovereign Lord and there is none like You.  You are the Savior and the Redeemer and all who turn to You will be saved.  Guide me in Your righteousness.

Lord Jesus, You are the Savior in the flesh who’s appearing has assured the fulfillment of the promises that have been spoken all along.  Help me, I pray, in every time of trouble to see that only in You is there hope and a future.  Guide me along Your paths of righteousness that I would live according to Your never-changing Word and see the truth of all that You have spoken.  Amen.

“Your gates will be open continually; they will not be closed day or night, so that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations, with their kings led in procession.  “For the nation and the kingdom which will not serve you will perish, and the nations will be utterly ruined.”  (Isaiah 60:11-12)

The Lord promises a time of prosperity and safety.  The kingdom of heaven will be an eternal place of rest, that is, where all is safe and the nations will be in peace.  Where we are and where we will be are two different things.  The Lord of hosts has spoken and it will come to pass according to His Word.  Trust in the Lord who is able to do these things and lean not on your own understanding.

Lord, You have given Your Word, and Your Word will not come back void.  Where I am unable to yet understand, grant faith and where You have spoken Your Word and it has come to pass, help me see.  In all things, grant that by faith I would accept all that You have promised and live according to Your never-failing Word day in and day out.  You alone are true and trustworthy.

God in the flesh who has come amongst us, lead me this day in all of the promises given through Your Word.  Help me see that in You alone is there hope and a future.  Guide me throughout this day to live according to Your Word knowing that in You alone will I find the fulfillment my heart desires.  In all things this day, help me to live for Your glory.  Amen.

“Surely the coastlands will wait for Me; and the ships of Tarshish will come first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them, for the name of the Lord your God, and for the Holy One of Israel because He has glorified you.  “Foreigners will build up your walls, and their kings will minister to you; for in My wrath I struck you, and in My favor I have had compassion on you.”  (Isaiah 60:9-10)

The Lord will do what is needed to take away the sin of the world.  The Lord’s ways are not our ways.  Who can fathom the mind of the Lord.  See what He has done and then begin to understand what He is doing.  You, O man, are His creation and He is accomplishing what He has purposed.  His compassion is upon those who fear Him as He creates in them a clean heart and renews a right spirit.

Lord, I cannot fathom Your mercy, or Your wrath, yet I see the evidence of what You have done in the past.  Guide me through my perplexity to see that You alone will accomplish what You have promised.  Then join me to Your never-failing promise that in You I would find life and the liberty You grant through grace.  Lead me O Lord to be the person You are creating me to be.

Lord Jesus, You have come to accomplish the Father’s will and have called all who would join You to embark on the journey of faith.  Guide me this day Lord Jesus that in You I would find all that You have intended for my life now and forever.  May I become faithful in all things by the example You have given through Your life and ministry on earth.  Bring me to the place where I bring glory to the Father.  Amen.

“All the flocks of Kedar will be gathered together to you, the rams of Nebaioth will minister to you; they will go up with acceptance on My altar, and I shall glorify My glorious house.  “Who are these who fly like a cloud and like the doves to their lattices?”  (Isaiah 60:7-8)

There are those who gather to the Lord and those who do not.  All are called, but only those who hear the Word of the Lord and heed its call follow after Him.  Join in the new direction of going after the Lord and see the new horizon, knowing that in the Lord all is well with your soul.  Only in the Lord will you find what is needed and only in the Lord is their true life.  Know the Lord and live.

Lord, through Your Word and through creation itself, You call out for all to see, hear and respond.  You are God, there is no other.  You are the Creator of all that exists and You know that which You have made.  Incline my ear to hear Your call and come unto You and know that You are the One who is the center of all being.  Guide my heart to be inclined to You now and always.

Lord Jesus, You are the God who has taken on human flesh and made Yourself known.  You come that we may hear and see as You call in the form we can understand to know and see the God whom we cannot comprehend.  Lead today as You gather all those who will come through You to the Father that as one of those who hear and see, I may join with the communion of Saints You have created.  Amen.

“Then you will see and be radiant, and your heart will thrill and rejoice; because the abundance of the sea will be turned to you, the wealth of the nations will come to you.  “A multitude of camels will cover you, the young camels of Midian and Ephah; all those from Sheba will come; They will bring gold and frankincense, and will bear good news of the praises of the Lord.”  (Isaiah 60:5-6)

What is the Lord doing?  What is the Lord going to do?  We often begin to think in terms of ourself, but look beyond and ask what the Lord is doing for eternity.  The plans He has go much farther than we can imagine and He has invited us to join Him.  Come to the Lord and encourage those from far and wide to join along, for the Lord is good and He will bring to pass all that He has promised.

Lord, I sometimes limit myself to what I know, forgetting that You, who know all things, are the One who can and does fulfill all promises.  Lead me ever closer to You and Your kingdom that I would give up what I am thinking at the time for the truth of who You are and what You have revealed.  You are the source of all existence and in You in the reality of all.  Turn my heart to You, O Lord.

Lord Jesus, You have come humbly to lead the way for all who would come to You and through You to the Father.  Lead me according to the Father’s purpose that I would go where You would have me go and do what is right in Your sight.  Help me today to learn from Your example how to be faithful and then live the faithfulness to which You have called me for the Father’s glory.  Amen.
